from home to home

Hi mummy and daddy, everyone.. i'm safe and sound here in sydney. I did feel quite adventurous on the way here although it wasn't exactly anything really adventurous at all. First, my passport saga, then I took 2 budget flights here. Stopped at Darwin early early in the morning and slept near the check-in counter for a couple of hours before the counters opened. (I had a proper safe sleeping system so no one could steal my stuff. And I was half awake the whole time anyway.)

L: Tara, don't put your foot in your mouth!
T: Why?
L: Because it's dirty. It's full of germs and it'll make you sick. Stop sucking on your toes Tara.
T: But I have to!
L: No you don't.
T: I really do mummy.

Tara's talking a lot more and she's forming proper sentences now. I thought parents were exaggerating when they say that their kids would ask "why?" non-stop. Today, I've witnessed it first hand.

We were driving home from the airport when we saw a topless man at the side of the road.

T: Mummy, why is that man with no shirt on?
L: Maybe because he's feeling very hot.
T: Why?
L: (explain explain explain)
T: Why?
L: (come up with new reasons and explain explain explain)
T: Why? Mummy, why?
L: We've already come up with 5 reasons why that man had his shirt off.
T: Why?

I'm packing my 2 pannier bags now. Half of one bag is filled with clothes. 1 and a half will be filled with equipment and food. Tent and sleeping bag on the hind rack. Diane and I leave earlier at around 11ish am. Then Brett will pick SL up from airport around then, come back and try to catch up to us.

Brett and I were just playing with our torches a moment ago. Comparing to see which one was better.
Diane(who was trying to watch tv): Why don't you children play outside. We're going to be doing this tmr night anyway.

It's great how I feel so at home here. Love it.
